PI Wrapped: The year in BAs, industry accolades, podcast replays, and more – en route to Better Work, Better World

The PI ecosphere expanded far and wide this year, from the acquisition of Charma to the rollout of PI Perform, and some 5 million-plus Behavioral Assessments completed in between. It’s been a whirlwind, with every action taken in the name of achieving our lofty-but-ever-relevant mission: Better Work, Better World.

We’re recapping some highlights from the year that was. We’ve also compiled some neatly wrapped playlists – arranged, in true PI fashion, by Reference Profile – waiting for you at the end.

Let’s get into it, starting with some stats straight from the Talent Optimization platform:

Giving the gift of self-awareness

More than 5.7 million people unlocked invaluable behavioral data this year through PI’s Behavioral Assessment, gaining insights into their strengths, work styles, collaboration capabilities. From management strategies to influencing styles, this science-backed tool gives individuals the insight to show up stronger, connect better, and unlock their full potential

“PI allows us to efficiently screen large volumes of candidates while identifying those with the potential for success, even if their qualifications might not fit a traditional mold,” said Sam Braverman, Operations Manager with Rubicon, a PI client. “This has enabled us to attract a more diverse set of applicants and uncover ‘out-of-the-box’ candidates that we might have otherwise overlooked. Additionally, PI’s data-driven approach helps mitigate unconscious bias in our hiring decisions, ensuring a fairer and more inclusive process.”

In 2024, Collaborators, Operators, and Guardians took the spotlight, representing the most common PI Reference Profiles driving teamwork, precision, and stability across industries. PI users created nearly 90,000 new Job Targets, and used the Relationship Guide in PI Inspire a whopping 43,651 times.

More than 62,000 teams worldwide used PI Design to build better working relationships. Exploring, Adapting, and Stabilizing teams were the most common team types, reflecting the ambition, flexibility, and stability that drive success in an evolving world.

Product innovations and security enhancements

The Predictive Index fully integrated Charma into the PI platform as its fifth product module, PI Perform, which supports managers by harnessing a powerful combination of integrating behavioral data into day-to-day workflows to help managers personalize their management style and provide the tools to apply those insights and leadership best practices.

PI also successfully achieved its first Service Organization Controls (SOC) 2 Type II accreditation, reassuring customers and stakeholders alike that client and partner data is secure. PI was also recertified with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) through its newest compliance standards, meeting rigorous international standards in ensuring data confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

Growth, action, and inclusion throughout the PI community

PI added more than 1,400 new clients this year, while onboarding 41 new partners, focusing heavily on quality, retention and the move to PI’s upgraded talent optimization platform, PI2. Adam Berke was named Chief Product Officer after joining The Predictive Index through the acquisition of Charma, where he was co-founder and CEO.

PI remained committed to its DEIB endeavors by continuing its PI Pro Bono program. The company onboarded 15 new qualifying nonprofits, whose missions are focused on underrepresented and/or underserved communities, with access to PI consultants at no cost. Internally, 50% of PI promotions (to roles of Director or above) were women.

Expanding the reach of Better Work, Better World

PI has been spreading the gospel of behavioral data for decades now, but those efforts accelerated in 2024.

The Lead The People Podcast hosted by The Godfather of Talent Optimization, Matt Poepsel PhD, reached 55,000 listeners. The show celebrated its 100th episode hosting Kim Scott, the brilliant author of Radical Candor and Radical Respect.

PI’s social media content was viewed nearly 8.5 million times and followers on social platforms such as LinkedIn and Instagram grew by more than 20% from 2023.

Earning new industry accolades

At a time when many companies revert to hybrid or fully in-office models, PI has stood firm in its remote-first approach and employee choice-driven policy. In doing so, the company earned Timmy Awards for Best Tech Work Culture and Best Remote Work Culture, as well as a BuiltIn Boston Award for Best Midsize Places to Work.

Industry and technology awards included:

  • Stevie Award Gold Winner for Female Social Media Manager of the Year
  • Stevie Award Bronze Winner for Best Technology Team of the Year
  • Brandon Hall Group Technology Excellence Gold Award Winner for Best Advance in Talent Management Technology for SMBs
  • Brandon Hall Group Technology Excellence Gold Award Winner for Best Advance in Candidate Assessments Technology

Echoing our customers’ gratitude

None of the above would be possible without the efforts of the entire PI network – from partners and consultants, to clients and customer support teams. And when users tout their experiences with PI products, they become more than practitioners – they’re talent optimization evangelists

“We’ve seen [PI’s behavioral insights] allow for a higher degree of awareness and people telling others, ‘This is how I would appreciate this happening.’ And vice versa,” explained Phil Wesbury, Vice President at Builtech.

That sort of praise is a gift that keeps giving, and one that begets a better work world. We owe immense thanks to all our PI customers, and the many others supporting their active use.

So in the spirit of the holiday season, we figured we’d return the favor…
