At The Predictive Index, LLC (the “Predictive Index”, “PI®” or the “Company”), we are committed to protecting your personal information.  This policy (“Services Privacy Policy” or this “Policy”) outlines PI’s privacy practices with respect to the information you provide when using our products and services.  This Services Privacy Policy applies to any information provided to or collected by PI in connection with our products and services as described in this Services Privacy Policy.  If you only use our public website, this Services Privacy Policy does not apply to you.   The Website Privacy Policy can be reviewed at https://www.predictiveindex.com/privacy-website.

You should read this Services Privacy Policy to learn more about the policies and practices we have developed to safeguard your personal information, and to better understand our relationships with the third parties who may have access to this information. 

The information includes any information associated with you (such as your name, title, email address or phone number) that is supplied to us in connection with your use of our products or services and “personal information” as used in this Services Privacy Policy means information that identifies, or can be used to identify, an individual.   This Services Privacy Policy is available to all users before any personal information is obtained from them.

Respondents to PI Assessments 

If you are responding to a PI assessment, you are called a “respondent” for purposes of this Services Privacy Policy.  Respondents will be asked for first and last name and email address. You will also be asked to provide responses to the PI Behavioral Assessment (which consists of adjectives chosen by the respondent) and/or the PI Cognitive Assessment (which consists of multiple choice responses chosen by the respondent). 

 

We use the personal information with your consent to provide the PI assessment to your potential employer or employer.  We will keep this information for a reasonable length of time that allows us to provide the Services, but after 120 days from the end of our agreement with your potential employer or employer, all respondent personal information is anonymized.

 

In addition to the personal information collected when you complete a PI assessment, additional information may be collected when you voluntarily agree to answer optional research questions. In this case, the information requested may include the following: customer-provided group designation, age, years of experience, ethnicity, gender, country of origin, education level, position level, company name, relationship to PI, title, occupation, and personal contact details to be included in further PI research, and are only collected with your express consent. This additional information is never provided to a customer and is used for PI’s internal research purposes only.

 

Customers and Users of PI Software

 

Clients of PI are referred to as “customers” and authorized users of the PI software at each customer company are referred to as “users.”

 

Personal information of customer contacts and users will be used for purposes of providing the Services to you.  We will also provide your personal information to trusted PI Certified Partners (defined below) and technical service providers who work on behalf of PI and use your personal information to provide the service.   Such technical service providers include cloud and database providers (such as Amazon Web Services and Azure), and other suppliers who assist us with providing our products and services, and with providing technical support.  A complete list of technical service providers may be found here:  https://www.predictiveindex.com/subprocessors.  We use your personal information only in connection with performing the contract that we have entered into with you, your employer, or a third party, and in providing, managing and administering our Services.

 

If you are a PI customer, you may optionally request and store other information from your users and respondents including job code, department code, occupation, status, language preference, or other freeform company-specific information configured by the customer, if applicable. The Service is intended for business purposes only, and is not intended to collect or store any special categories of personal data or sensitive health or financial information.  Please do not enter this type of information.  PI does not make use of such information except in accordance with this Services Privacy Policy. If you voluntarily provide this company-specific information, you are considered to have provided your consent by opting into the collection and use of this information as described in this Services Privacy Policy.

 

PI and its distribution partners (known as PI Certified Partners) collect additional personal information from users and employees of customers who attend sales training. This information includes address, email address, telephone and fax numbers. We use this information to contact you to provide you with additional information regarding your use of the Service and sales training.  PI does not control personal information collected by PI Certified Partners.  If you wish to access, amend, or delete any personal information given to a PI Certified Partner, you should contact that Partner.  A directory of our PI Certified Partners is here.

 

PI may collect, store and use aggregated anonymous information from the administration of PI assessments and our other products and services in order to improve our business operations and our products. This information does not identify any individual. PI also uses log files and other generally available web tracking technologies in operating, maintaining, and improving our PI Software Platform and Website. This information does not contain any personal information and is not linked to any personal information that PI holds except when a respondent voluntarily agrees to answer optional research questions.

 

Reports and Analytics

 

We maintain a history of user access to the Services, and certain actions taken by you while accessing the Services.  This includes maintaining a log of users’ IP addresses, the websites from which users access the Services, the type of web browsers used to access the Services and the browser settings that may affect performance.

 

We use this information for legitimate business interest in understanding how our Services are accessed, how they are used, and whether there are any potential security issues arising from such use.   We will keep this information for a reasonable length of time that allows us to provide the Services and to perform the contract that we have entered into with our customer.

 

Free Trials and Services Demonstrations

 

If you are taking a free trial or participating in a demonstration of the Services, in addition to the uses outlined above, your personal information may be used by PI and/or its Certified Partners in connection with offering the Services to you and/or your organization for purchase. Do you share personal information with third parties?

PI does not sell or rent any personal information to any third party. We do not disclose any personal information to any other party except to fulfill the purposes for which the information was disclosed and as described in this Services Privacy Policy. To fulfill those purposes, PI discloses personal information as follows:

  • To the customer and its employees who administer or order PI assessments or other products and services;
  • To employees of PI, our distributors, and their employees and subcontractors for the purposes of database management, administration, customer support, and assistance in interpreting assessment results;
  • To subcontractors of PI who develop and manage our hardware, software and communications infrastructure; and
  • To third party software systems used by the customer via a software integration, including but not limited to Applicant Tracking Systems and other Human Resources Information Systems, if applicable.

Customers receive PI Assessments and associated reports processed by the PI Software Platform and then integrate these reports into their own Human Resources and personnel systems.   PI does not own or control information contained in the PI Assessments or stored on the PI Software Platform by customers. If you wish to access, amend, or delete any personal information connected with a PI Assessment that you may have taken, please contact the company who requested that you take the PI Assessment.

 

PI maintains contracts with our customers, distributors, and subcontractors requiring them to comply with the requirements of this Policy. These third parties must provide at least the same level of privacy protection as required under applicable law, including under European Union data protection laws.

 

We may need to share your information for law enforcement or other legal purposes. This type of sharing may be necessary in connection with a lawsuit, claim or investigation, governmental inquiry, court order, enforcement of legal rights (e.g., contract terms, intellectual property rights, etc.), safety issue, or other similar legal or security matter. Sharing your information for these reasons is not a regular event, but could arise from time to time. We will strive to limit the types and amount of information we may need to share for legal purposes to that which is reasonably necessary.

 

We may share (or receive) information about you, including personal contact information, in the event of an acquisition, merger, sale, corporate restructuring, bankruptcy, or other similar event that involves PI. If such an event occurs, we will take reasonable steps to require that your information be handled in accordance with this Services Privacy Policy.

 

How does PI protect the security of my personal information?

PI maintains appropriate technical and organizational security measures designed to ensure the security of personal information covered by this Policy and to protect such personal information from loss, misuse, or unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. PI has a written data security policy that describes the policies and procedures by which we and our employees maintain data security.

 

Despite all of our efforts, no security safeguards or standards are guaranteed to provide 100% security.  Please protect your password information, unique PI assessment email invitation and its contents, and use caution when logging into your account from a shared or public computer.

 

What about transfer of my personal information to other countries?

 

Your information may be transferred outside your home country.  Because PI is headquartered in the United States, we may have a need to transfer information from non-U.S. respondents and other users to the United States.   We may also have a need to transfer your personal information (regardless of where you live) to other countries or places in which we or our customers, distributors, or subcontractors, maintain offices or facilities.   As part of the registration process to take a PI assessment, you are asked for your consent to this [Services] Privacy Policy and agree to allow us to transfer your information outside your home country and to process it inside the United States or elsewhere for the purposes stated in this [Services] Privacy Policy.

We do not collect information from children.  PI assessments are not designed to be administered to anyone under the age of 18, therefore we do not solicit or collect any type of information from a person known to be under that age.

How can I change, update, or delete my personal information?

 

Respondents

If you are inquiring about information collected in connection with a PI assessment, please contact the company who requested that you take the assessment.   PI is not a “controller” of the personal information of respondents, and will pass any requests along to our customers and will not respond to the request itself. We do not control or own assessment data and we handle it on behalf of our customers as a data processor.   We process assessment data governed by the written agreements in place with our customers and to the extent necessary to comply with applicable law.  To the extent instructed by our customer and in accordance with our customer agreement and applicable law, we will assist a customer in comply with respondent data access requests by providing relevant information and support to the particular customer to enable it to comply with the request.
