Logging in using single sign-on (SSO)

Single sign-on (SSO) is an authentication method that lets you log in to your PI account using a business Google or Microsoft account.

How SSO works

SSO leverages sign-in information from popular web platforms (like Google and Microsoft). When you log in with SSO, our application interfaces with Google or Microsoft to verify your identity and grant you access to your PI account.

How to log in with SSO

  1. Visit the PI login page.
  2. Underneath the username and password fields, you’ll see two additional sign-in options:
  • “Continue with Google”
  • “Continue with Microsoft”
  1. Select your preferred sign-in option. A new window will open.
  2. Log in using your Google or Microsoft account credentials.
  3. Upon successful login, you’ll be redirected to the PI software.

Note: To log in with SSO, your organization must use either Google or Microsoft business/enterprise emails.

FAQs

SSO lets users authenticate themselves without needing to enter their PI credentials. Not only does this save time, but it also reduces the risk of users relying on weak or reused passwords.

No. SSO is a user-specific setting that must be enabled on a per-user basis.

Users cannot manually disable SSO. To revert to your original PI credentials, reach out to our support team with this form.

We recommend you disable the user’s software access like normal.

No. Multi-factor authentication only applies to users that sign in using their PI credentials.

To use MFA with your Google or Microsoft account, you (or your IT team) must enable it directly via Google or Microsoft.

Here are some troubleshooting tips:

    1. Check your email address. Make sure you’re using the same email for SSO that you used to create your PI account.

    1. Check your login credentials. Verify that you’ve entered the correct username and password for your Microsoft or Google account. Check for typos or incorrect characters.

    1. Check your internet connection. Ensure you have a stable internet connection and aren’t experiencing any connectivity issues.

    1. Clear your cache. Clear your browser’s cache and cookies, then try logging in again.

    1. Disable browser extensions. Disable any browser extensions you have installed, then try logging in again.

    1. Contact your IT team. If you’re still unable to log in with SSO, contact your IT team or admin for assistance.

    1. Use recovery options. If you forget your SSO password, you can recover it directly from Microsoft or Google using an account recovery option. This typically involves providing a recovery email address or phone number.

You can reset your password directly via Google or Microsoft. For help recovering your Google or Microsoft credentials, reach out to your company’s IT team or admin.
