Science: Assessment Recognition
The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) does not recognize or certify assessments for hiring; the EEOC only investigates assessments should there be evidence of adverse impact in hiring procedures. When developing or updating assessments, the Science team follows best practices and industry standards from documents such as Uniform Guidelines on Employee Selection Procedures and the Standards for Educational and Psychological Testing.
In terms of assessment recognition by psychological associations, the BA was certified by the European Federation of Psychologists’ Association (EFPA) in 2018, and the CA is currently undergoing EFPA review. In the United States, the American Psychological Association (APA) does not certify or endorse any tests, rather they set the expectation that test developers will follow the best practices they reference on their website.
