Customize Your Profile and User Settings

In this section, we are going to show you how to customize your settings in Salesforce, specifically your email.  If you look up in the top right-hand corner you will see your picture or an icon indicating it is you that is logged in.  When you click on that icon you can choose your display density and there is also the option to choose your settings.  If you click on ‘Settings’, you will see that there are all kinds of areas of your account you can customize.  For our position the only thing we need to customize is our email settings.

The email area is a very significant area because Salesforce has the ability to allow you to email customers directly within the program, which is how we respond to cases.  You will want to ensure the following fields are set up correctly.

How would you like your name to appear on outgoing e-mail?

This will be your First and Last Name.


Set up your email signature

You will want to set up your signature to have a general opening and closing.  The picture below is an example of what yours could look like.  This is helpful to have set up because it reduces your time spent typing the same lines for every reply to send out.


You do not need to set these up to start using Salesforce, but it will make your life a bit easier.  We hope this was helpful.  That concludes the general overview of the Settings and Profile overview of Salesforce.
