SuperReturn is the largest annual private equity and venture capital conference in the US and offers nearly 600 attendees multiple opportunities for networking, master classes and roundtables. This year it runs from June 15-18 at the Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel and among the event’s special guest speakers will be Dan Courser, CEO of Predictive Synergistics, a management consultancy that helps its clients improve their business and team performance through the use of the Predictive Index® Talent Management suite of tools.

Dan’s session will show how investors can use “people” analytics to better predict the performance of portfolio company management candidates—particularly CEOs and CFOs. Assessing the potential business performance of individuals and teams has traditionally been more art than science. Dan will discuss how to augment gut instinct with measurable, comparative data about leadership team prospects.

His session will include the key measures that indicate how individuals are likely to perform in a given leadership role, and as part of a specific team. These measures include:

  • Risk profile: how easily decisions are made
  • Communication profile: how collaborative or individualistic are the team members
  • Ability to scale the organization: how easily authority and work is delegated
  • Team balance: “gas pedal” vs. “brake pedal” – in other words, can the team get it done?
